We are Christians. We believe in the triune God the Father, Christ the Son, and in the Holy Spirit - the three in one. As Christians, we are a part of the one holy, catholic (universal) church. We are in conversations and partnership with almost all other branches of Christianity.
Our particular denomination of Christianity is Lutheran. Lutherans follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and were formed in the 16th century when a Catholic monk named Martin Luther looked for reform in the church. As Lutherans we place a heavy emphasis on scripture, grace, and faith.
Our mission at TELC is to create a community where all people can share the word, show love, and serve the world. At TELC we choose actively and intentionally to be united by our commonality rather than be divided by our differences. With Christ as our bedrock, and the word, love, and service as our building blocks, we have established a community of Christians that has actively worshiped together for over 125 years.
